I tested an old method last week, and want to share all of my results and statistics with you.
YouTube commenting has been a great way to drive traffic to your site for many years. However in the past year, YouTube has cracked down on this and many people say that YouTube commenting is dead as you have to rely on people to manually type your websites address into the browser to bypass YouTube’s restrictions.
So I decided to put it to the test and share all of my statistics with you.
The YouTube Comment Test
On March the 11th, I posted 1 comment on a related YouTube video every day until March 19th
The results? I got 499 unique visitors, 354 CPALead Clicks, 14 Leads and $26.91 profit

Not bad for spending 2 minutes a day posting a single comment!
Scaling It Up
After the great success of my small test, I decided to scale up my YouTube commenting campaign. I posted 240 comments across the 20th and 21st of March (yes I spent my weekend commenting)
These are the results for those 2 days alone-
741 unique visitors,578 CPALead Clicks, 25 Leads and $26.96 profit

Off the back of this success, it is only fair that I share how I did this with you!
Youtube Method #1 – 1 comment a day
Step 1 – Find A Video
First of all search YouTube for your target niche, in my case this was ‘Vampire Diaries’ and select the first video in the results.
Step 2 – Posting The Comment
Make sure you make a relevant comment on the video with your websites address.
Please note, YouTube have spam filters in place that filter out domains in comments. But we can get around this by changing things around in your domain like this-
- mydomain c0m
- mydomain,com
- mydomain ‘com
- mydomain/com
Here’s an example comment I posted-
Does anyone know when the DVD boxset gets released? I just watched them all on mydomain/com
That’s all there is to it! Do this every day on a different video!
YouTube Method #2 – Traffic Surge
Posting 240 comments in 2 days is a lot of work! But you dont really think I spent my whole weekend posting Youtube comments do you?
I did some research to find a way to automate this and decided to download the free version of TubeToolBox. (direct link)
TubeToolBox harvests videos and users from YouTube’s search results, and then automates the posting of comments with time delays to avoid your account been banned.
It took me 10 minutes to harvest 240 videos, write 15 comments and start posting them! I just left the program running in the background while I was in the pub
