.edu and .gov backlinks have been the holy grail of backlinks for many years. As .edu and .gov domains are only assigned to trusted sources, backlinks from these domains carry more weight and link juice than a link from a .com domain for example.

But how do you get links from trusted .gov and .edu domains?

Quite simple actually, just Google it!

By using Googles advanced search operators we can build a query that will only return .edu/.gov websites where we can leave our links! Perfect!

All you need to do is type the following into a Google search box-

site:.edu *your niche* + blog

This will return a list of blogs hosted on .edu domains. Just by leaving a couple of quick comments we can easily build .edu links to our domain.

If you want to find .gov links, then just use this query-

site:.gov *your niche* + blog

Using this technique it is easy to find high page rank .edu and .gov sites! Please be considerate and do not spam these blogs with your link building efforts.

Extra Tip: Use .mil in the query to find links from military sources :) these are rare, so if you find them, treasure them!
